Jenny shepherded me through the 2012 race season: a convoluted and ambitious schedule of events, one which Jenny termed “challenging”. I raced:
the Napa Marathon in 3:20;
the Pacifica trail 50K run, a 1st place OA;
the Lagoon valley trail 5K, a 1st place OA
the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim crossing in 12 hours;
the Napa Half Ironman, a 6th place OA;
the Vineman Half Ironman, 14th AG;
the Vineman Full Ironman, a 4th Place AG;
Ironman Louisville, a 2nd place AG and a slot to the World Championships;
and finally, the Ironman World Championships, in Kailua-Kona
This was one of my most ambitious years of racing in a long time, but Jenny’s coaching and cajoling kept me on track the whole year. Spinning me up for the Grand canyon while still keeping the Ironman training going was a piece of art. Left to my own means I’m sure I would have exploded once or twice throughout the year as I am wont to do. But with her knowledge and listening skills I had zero training meltdowns. My verbal feedback was minimal, but she could read between the lines during our conversations and know when to back me off, or hammer me into the ground.
I would definitely work with Jenny again in the future!

Having just come through the most challenging time in my life – physically, psychologically, and emotionally – I was in search of a way to reclaim a sense of personal power and control. I joined a local Tri club where I met Jenny Lagerquist. Because I was a newbie to the sport it was important that I benefit from the years of experience and wisdom of others. Jenny Lagerquist provided that in my training and preparation. Moreover Jenny coached me with a kind of holistic approach; from helping me through my panic attacks in the pool to encouraging me to maintain a healthy balance in my personal life. There were countless times in my training when I had doubts about my abilities and mental toughness. Jenny gave just the right amount of encouragement and straight talk, and I never doubted that she was in my corner. When I overcame obstacles Jenny was my biggest cheerleader.
If you want an experienced, knowledgable, and accessible coach to help you reach your goals, Jenny Lagerquist is the coach you are looking for. She will develop a fitness program specifically designed for you, within the timeframe you need to meet your racing goals. Jenny can provide a hands-on/face-to-face training environment and also utilizes multiple mediums in coaching her athletes (which I have found extremely useful since relocating across the country). Jenny makes training a fun experience, and provides a lot of variety in her workouts. I just cannot say enough about how much I appreciate her.

In my early triathlon days, my training was a mess…somewhat random in composition and incredibly inconsistent.
Jenny brought things under control for me and gave my training direction, and she made sure it was the direction that I wanted to go!The results speak for themselves…within 2 months, we decreased my 50-yard swim time by 25%…another 2 months, and my running time-trial pace improved by 2 minutes…and, six months into my work with Jenny, I took 45 minutes off my marathon PR.
Jenny is the real deal!

About a year ago I was on my way to join my first triathlon club. At the time I figured that it would be a good way to find out more about the sport and meet new people. Little did I know that I was going to meet Jenny Lagerquist. From our short conversation, I became very enthusiastic about learning more from her. Now after a year of training with Jenny, I have not only learned how to train properly for a triathlon, but more importantly I learned that it is her core values of communication, support, and integrity which have made her an absolute great triathlon coach.
Jenny always communicates my training schedules clearly. Workouts are modified and tweaked to meet my training goals rather than just rubber-stamping workouts to my log. She goes beyond what is called for when answering training questions, even the random ones that I am known for. Above all else, what makes her communication style such a strength within her coaching is that she speaks with me at my level and never talks down to me. I have also witnessed this when she talks with other athletes.
Jenny is always there for me and other athletes. Being a Mom, a wife, and triathlete herself, you would probably think otherwise. Her supportive coaching style is paramount. Supportiveness is what energizes Jenny to be the best coach she can be to myself and other athletes. She is always trying to find new training opportunities for everyone. She will also call me up after a race when I least expect it and ask how the race went. It makes the race worthwhile after talking to her, which leads me to say these final words pertaining to her supportiveness: she supports the goals that I have for the race, never what place I finish.
Jenny sets the example of doing what’s right instead of the easy wrong. This value is also imbedded in her supportive and communication values described above. She will tell you the truth, good or bad. This is the number one reason why she is my coach!
I highly recommend Jenny as a triathlon coach for athletes of all levels. Her knowledge, experience, and many certifications pay testimony of her accolades, but it is her core values of communication, support, and integrity that really define as a great coach.

I have been training with Jenny for a few months now and have found her coaching style to be top notch. After establishing clear and concise goals, she set up workout programs that are very diverse and continually challenge me to push myself harder to obtain the next level. Even though I am in Florida and she is in Hawaii we have found a great way to make the distance coaching work out. She is very good at having an active dialogue and always makes herself available at all times of the day.
Her experience as a competitive athlete gives her a better understanding of how to coach with performance in mind. I have found her service to be well worth the money and the experience. She will get you the results that you want and give you a roadmap to achieving your goals!

I cannot be more pleased with my training and racing results working with Jenny. She assessed my existing physical fitness, and properly identified my strengths and areas for improvement based on my personal goals. While running is my strength, Jenny’s work-outs still made me faster and built my endurance. She personally worked with me in the pool to improve my swimming technique and learn to conserve energy. The greatest emphasis was on my cycling ability. She built a work-out schedule that was focused on building biking strength and the improvement was phenomenal!
Jenny worked closely with me, addressing scheduling conflicts to ensure that work-outs maximized results in available time and offered excellent nutritional, stretching and emotional support. So what was the result? Only 1.5 years after buying my first road bike and competing in my first sprint triathlon, Jenny trained and prepared me for a full ironman which I was able to very comfortably complete in 11:34, by far exceeding all of my expectations. I highly recommend Jenny- she will help you meet and exceed your goals!

I set out this year, not as an athlete, but as a mom trying to raise money for autism through running. I wanted to make a big statement by running 10 distance races to raise $10,000, but I had never run anything further than an 8K. Thank goodness for Jenny’s coaching expertise. She developed a workout plan that fit my schedule & built my fitness up little by little. Her racing tips were indispensable for an inexperienced runner like me, and she was always responsive to my concerns & feedback. Thanks to her, this year I completed 7 half marathons, followed by 3 full marathons in just 5 weeks, all injury-free. Without Coach Jenny, I would never have survived my Marathon Madness!
